The Church was built in 1955 at the instance of John Delaney, the UP Chaplain at that time. It was designed by National Artist Leandro Locsin. The Murals of the Stations of the cross were by National Artist Vicente Manansala and assisted by another National Artist, Ang Kiukok. The Crucifix Sculpture and Altar were done by National Artist Napoleon Abueva. The River of Life floor Terrazzo by another National Artist Arturo Luz.
