About the Church: This church is “formerly known as Cano-an. Erected a parish on 14 June 1836 with the advocacy of San Vicente Ferrer, and formerly named Canoan was once part of the Siquijor parish. Redondo (1886, 189) describes the church as made of tabique and having a nipa roof, the convento was likewise thatched with nipa and made of wood. The Recollects remained until 1898 and left behind a church and convento both of which burnt and have been replaced by modern constructions” (Panublion Heritage Site)

About the Church: The Church of Maria was erected as a Parish on October 18, 1880. It was a part of the Siquijor Parish.

How to Get to the Church: The Tricycle is the Main type of Transport in Siquijor. There are Jeepneys but there are a few only. Negotiate the rate if it is only the Church of Maria you want to see. To go on an Island Tour prepare to fork out 900-1000 Pesos. You can also rent a Motorbike, these can be rented almost everywhere. Ask ther resort where you will be staying if they have any for rent.

About the Church: 

The Church of San Juan sits atop a Hill, and below it is the Capilay Spring. The Church was built in 1863.

About the Church:  

The Parish was established by Secular Priests under the Patronage of Saint Francis of Assisi on February 1,  1783. Transferred to the recollects in 1793. The present stone Church was started on 1795-1831 under Father Setten, a secular priest. Father Alonso de los Dolores administered the construction.
