About the Church: San Pedro Bautista Parish is one of the oldest churches built by the Franciscan friars in the province of Quezon. This was the last oldest church built during 18th century. This church was initially made of cogon built in 1879. In the year 1884, Candelaria, Quezon declared as Pueblo y Parroqia and P. Apolinario Villafuerte appointed as the first cura. P. Eriberto Boveda replaced his place as cura and P. Toribio Ilao is the third cura who started a lot of changes in the church. (from the San Pedro Bautista Parish Website)
